On average, women make 80 cents for every dollar a white man makes. To "celebrate" and bring awareness to the issue of equal pay, all drinks at the UNhappy Hour will cost 20% less for women. During the event, you'll be invited to mingle with peers, learn more information about how to advocate for equal pay for yourself and others, and take action to reach elected officials.
April 10, Equal Pay Day, is the symbolic day when women's earnings finally "catch up" to the wages that men took home the previous year. Because the fight for equal pay looks different for everyone, we will host additional UNhappy Hours throughout the year. Save the date as we continue to raise awareness and observe the equal pay days in August for African American women, in September for Native American women and in October for Latina women.
Thank you for continuing to advocate for equal pay. We hope to see you in April!
